National Consumer Law Center has guides for consumers struggling with debt and other issues.

Use Annual Credit Report.com to get your credit report for free once a year  from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. It is the only one-stop service they have authorized. You can

  1. download the Annual Credit Report Request Form, print it out and mail it in, 
  2. phone and ask them to send you your credit report in the mail or 
  3. fill out a form online that sends you to each of the three credit reporting agencies, TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax where you can get your free credit report.
